Electro Homeopathy

Print E-mail
This term is derived from three words-

ELECTRO comes from the electro bio-energy content extracted from plants and the way that energy is extracted and made into remedies. The force of electro bio-energy connects itself to any disturbance within the body and expels it from the system. It thereby restores the organic tissues and nervous system to their proper balanced state of health.

HOMOEO refers to the equilibrium or balance between the blood and lymphatic systems and works towards “Homoeostasis” which is the correct physical and chemical consistency of the body’s cells. This ensures that each and every cell interrelates as it should so that the body functions at its best.

PATHY basically means a system of treatment. In short, Electro Homeopathy is the system of natural medicines, made exclusively from plant extracts, by which a healthy balance is achieved and maintained throughout the whole body.

Electro Homeopathy has four fundamental laws

LAW OF POLARITY
CONSTITUTION & TEMPERAMENT
LAW OF DOSOLOGY
SELECTION OF REMEDY

Who Discovered Electro Homoeopathy?
The practice of Electro Homoeopathy grew with the Italian Noble, Count Cesar Mattei who founded true Electro Homoeopathy in the latter part of the 19th century in Bologna, Italy. Being strongly influenced by the philosopher Paulo Costa, Count Mattei was motivated to devote his time and wealth to the service of humanity. He built on the works of Indian metallurgists and Ayurvedic /Siddha practitioners , also on Paracelsus and Balroot but he focused on preparing remedies extracted exclusively from plants. He called these remedies Electro Homoeopathic medicines. He called these remedies electro homoeopathic medicines on own his experiments of 30 years which show in his plants extract as vegetable electricity.

Later on this system was further developed by Mattei adherent Theodore Krauss who have given the manufacturing method known as Krauss method (also mentioned in German Pharmacopoeia HAB) for making electro homeopathic remedies. He also added 22 more remedies in Mattei rest of remedies which was 38. This system became Electro complex homeopathy in his life time worldwide. After death of Count Mattei the progress and development was stopped during the First World War, during this period some so called perfectionists like Dr.A.Sauter in Geneva,Switzerland, and Father Augustus Muller in Mangalore, South India, took charge and established the so called true pharmacy of Electrohomeopathy , just as Minerva came out armed from the head of Jupiter( quote from Maria Venturoli Mattei).

Electro Homeopathic Remedies —How Do They Work?
They work on the principle that diseased organisms are far more sensitive than healthy organisms. Much like the area of skin around a cut or a graze is more sore and tender than its surrounding areas. A remedy is never given to just remove the symptoms from the body, but to work wholly on the disease and remove its cause. It therefore works on the body as a whole
Each remedy is derived from the active enzymes of several plants. When you take this complex remedy it completely covers and controls the body. It will then move through the body via the blood and lymphatic systems and target only those areas that require it. Once the diseased part is sufficiently saturated with the remedy, it stops absorbing it. When all the parts of the body have been healed and a healthy balance restored, the medicine itself is no longer absorbed. Therefore, there are absolutely no risks of over-dosing, side effects or drug dependency.
Electro Homoeopathic remedies purify the lymph and blood systems and can find and destroy the gravest of disorders. They can also help prevent disease by keeping the body pure and giving it a healthy balance.

Principle of Electro Homoeopathy
In sick person, the body fluids, lymph & blood become polluted and all the parts become abnormal state, which is why the disease develops in the body. Electro Homoeopathy is system of dynamic form of healing force extracted from the plants . It preserves and controls the organism Lymph and Blood, consisting of atoms, molecules, cell tissues, organs etc, by purifying them and returning them back to the normal state. The sick person recovers speedily and completely.
Why was the name given Electro Homoeopathy?
The name Electro Homoeopathy comes from the Electro content extracted from the plants, and the way this energy is extracted and made into the remedies. Electro Homoeopathy is a name given by the founder, on the basis that those remedies are class of energy conforming to the law of similar and they posses a power and promptness and speed of action of the remedy which allows them to be compared to electricity. Electro is not related to the electricity current and not using any type of electric machine in the treatments.
Theodore Krauss was the disciple of Count Mattei. Mattei made only 38 remedies in his life time but Krauss added more 22 remedies in his life time. After death of Count Mattei the progress and development was stopped in First World War, so therefore Krauss took charge and established the pharmacy of Electro Homeopathy in Germany which is why this pathy also known as spagyric method of Krauss.
The proving of remedies
Electro Homoeopathic remedies work on the principle that diseased organisms are far more sensitive than healthy organisms and change the condition of the bodily fluids. A remedy should not be given to remove the symptoms of the body but to work on the cause of the disease.
What is the difference between Electro Homoeopathy & other therapies?
Electro Homoeopathy is a system of medicine that draws all of its remedies from non-poisonous plants. It does not use sources from the mineral or animal kingdom. The remedies work with nature and help the healing force in the shape of Electro element.
Who can use Electro Homeopathic remedies?
Electro Homoeopathy can be used by anyone of any age group who suffers from acute to chronic illnesses, for example, depression, arthritis, migraine, ulcers or ME.
What are the side effects?
These remedies are all extracted from non-poisonous plants and do not create drug addiction or side effects. All remedies use the physical properties and not the chemical ones and are therefore ideal to combat the human body disorders without any side effects.
How do Electro Homeopathic remedies work?
The manner of preparing these compound remedies is the method of “cohobation”. This method uses plant extracts in the higher energies (vital force). This is a very potent invisible force, abstract in the natural form and transforms every constitution of the living being as an ‘Od Force’ (vital force). Each remedy is derived from the active enzymes of several plants. When the complex remedy is administered to the patient it completely covers and controls the body. The remedy will then move through the body acting on the parts that require it. As soon as the diseased part is sufficiently saturated with the remedy, it stops to absorb it. When all the parts of the body have been healed, the medicine itself is no longer absorbed.
What does the treatment involve?
This will depend on the individual & their personal health fitness. The holistic approach to illness needs to be given time & many ailments will not disappear overnight. Therefore a course of treatments is recommended to get the best result. Electro Homoeopathy treatment is always based on the Law of Temperament. The patient may be lymphatic, sanguine, mixed ,bilious or of a nervous temperament. The person belonging to a specific temperament will show symptoms based on that constitution. In order to learn the constitution of the patient, a full background into their history any inherited family health matters is required. A remedy is then given accordingly.

What to expect when, visiting a practitioner?
The patient will be asked questions relating to their medical history and perhaps that of their immediate family. Lifestyle questions, such as stress levels, diet; exercise regimes, and sleep patterns will be asked to ensure that a holistic approach is taken. Their own expectations of the treatment and what they hope the therapy will achieve will also be discussed. It is necessary for the practitioner to know that the patient comes under which temperament then the treatment can be assessed. The disease or condition they are displaying will also indicate what medicines should be taken. The patient will need to take the medicines, which come in the form of pill and liquid. You will be asked to attend another consultation when your prescription may change.

ABOUT SPAGYRIC THERAPY
Nagarjuna an Indian metallurgist and alchemist, born at Fort Daihak near Somnath in Gujarat in 931. He wrote the very first treatise Rasaratnakara that deals with alchemical preparations.
Spagyric medicine is ancient natural medicine the has undergone 500 years of trial, research and practice. Paracelsus the famous Swiss physician, Philosopher and alchemist is regarded as the founder of spagyric , but it was almost forgotten until the 19th century.
Dating from thee times of Paracelsus, the terms spagyric and spagyrism are derived from the Greek verbs "span (to seperate) and ageirein (to unify). They designate the art of creating medications of enhanced efficacy by performing the two fundamental alchemical operations. the valuable portions are first separated from those which are impure processed and subsequently reunited to yield an improved medicinal form (HELMSTADTER 1990). The source materials of spagyric medicines are exclusively from botanical origin. Depending upon the manufacturing process, differentiation is made among spagyrism according to Krauss.
Around the turn of the last century the Italian herbalist Count Cesare Mattei (1809-1896) rediscovered the lost spagyric art and founded the system known as electro homoeopathy in Italy. Mattei borrowed from Paracelsus the process of preparing the vegetable substances by means of a more or less complicated mode of fermentation, called cohobation, and also the final combination of he number of ingredients with similar or supplementary effects to form a complex medicinal unity. Mattei has kept the formulation secretly until the age of 78 and he gave all his work to his adopted son in laws Mario Ventrouli Mattei in 1887. After Mattei death in 1896 one of his disciple Theodor Krauss (1864-1924) has established his system in more advanced way. When the real supply of these remedies stopped in 1917 due to World war 1, Krauss reinvented the method in more scientific process known as Krauss method. Today the pharmaceutical company ISO, GmbH Germany is continuing his tradition via JSO Komplex heilwisen. First of all, these preparations enjoy success and worldwide appreciation because of their carefully chosen ingredient. Based on his key research with the founder of system count Mattei, Krauss added a few more combination remedies to the system, characterized by their broad therapeutic spectrum, they are highly acclaimed spinal cord of the system by experts from all over the world specially Germany since 1920.
SPAGYRIC THERAPY ACCORDING TO KRAUSS
The central pillar exists in spagyrism according to Krauss: phytotherapy, within the present context, phytotherapy is to be understood as the traditional art of healing with plants. The spagyric medications are administered in either their 4th or 10th decimal potency. The clinical propertise of the active medicinal substances within each preparation help determine the selection of the appropriate medication. In the Krauss' school of spagyric therapy, pathological processes are not viewed simply as isolated instances of dysfunction in individual organs or within the mind. Therefore, the objective is to detect and treat the course of disease in the interactions with all the body processes.
In order to adequately cover the multi-level interconnections of an illness, this type of therapy employs complex medications consisting of a combination of numerous single-ingredient spagyric remedies. Selection of the appropriate spagyric agents to be included within a complex is based on the physiological and anatomical relationships existing among individual body functions, organs, and organ groups. The single-ingredient agents are combined into such a manner to influence a group of organs closely associated with one another in either a physiological or anatomic-histological manner. Contained within one Electro homeopathic medication are single-ingredient agents with similar fields of actions as well as those that influence the pathological condition from a variety of aspects.
The constituents are combined to target the illness synergistically while mutually supplementing their effects. Thus they selectively direct their effects within the diseased organism at multiple levels, each in correspondence with its individual rang of action, thereby collectively creating stimulation of the body's intrinsic defensive and regenerative powers (Bruch 1939, Krauss 1989).
In the book "The Hidden Roots: A History of Homeopathy in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe" by Prof.. Dr. Robert Jütte, Director of the Institute of History of Medicine Foundation Robert Bosch in Germany is written that Dr Alexander Rosendorff (1871 - 1963) became "acquainted with Electrohomeopathy" when he met Cesare Mattei. The sign which he had installed in 1920 outside his practice in Tallinn, Waldstraße, however, said: 'Homeopath'.
In the book "The essay on history of Homeopathy in Latvia" Marina Afanasieva, Medical Dept., Vice-President of LMHI of Latvia, published by the "Liga Medicorum Homoeopathica Internationalis," France has written a significant part on Mr.. Feliks Lukin ( 1875-1934) that he learned Elettromeopatia from Dr.Rosendorf in Tallinn (Estonia) and practiced in France but with the name Homeopathy.
In Farmacopia Omeopatica Germany, published by the federal government, the formulas are described as delll'Elettromeopatia formulas Omeopatiche.
Bärbel Tschech (Dip. biologist) in her article : A Discussion of Complex Homeopathic Remedies ,translation by Siegfried Letzel, published in Hpathy Ezine - July, 2007 Zimpel and Mattei have been described as homeopaths.

Advantages of Electro Homeopathic Remedies -
These remedies are all extracted from plants, having energetic properties. They produce energy in the body; its action is gentle and sometimes instantaneous, but more generally gradual of such a nature that the results can only be perceived after some minutes.
They correct the deficiency or excess to natural proportions and recover the disease speedily, gently, completely and permanently.
They do not simply cure the particular disease for which they are prescribed, but at the same time good to the constitution of the patients who uses them.
The true remedy gives the extra something, which the body needs. They are non-poisonous and do not create drug disease or leave any bad effects on the body.
It is not extremely facilitated and simplified in this way, in the most complicated illness as well, but also it is more economical of what is so important in the present period of necessity.
It is especially adapted for universal use as household remedies. No mother dread her child’s life has been endangered because she has taken some of the medicines in error, nor need she ever be haunted by the fear, so often experienced by those who give bromides and other hurtful drugs that may turn out to be worse than the disease.

Although I think that J. B. Chapman's DR. SCHUESSLER'S BIOCHEMISTRY (London: New Era, 1973) is the easiest and best book on the subject, The Biochemic Handbook (St. Louis: Formur) is another readily available paperback guide to specific uses of the Schuessler cell salts. Either this book or Dr. Chapman's will serve you well. Homeopathic pharmacies, suppliers and websites may carry them, along with other standard works on homeopathy.

MORE ON THE SCHUESSLER CELL SALTS

Twelve cell salts were recognized and categorized by a German biochemist William H. Schuessler in 1873. He found that there are certain essential minerals that the body requires, in proper balance, in all of its cells. An imbalance or a lack of any of these minerals may lead to disease in the tissues so lacking. Providing the missing minerals to the tissues corrects that imbalance, and so eliminates the illness. This seemingly simple system of cure has great practical application in health. Using only a small number of harmless combinations (or "salts") of these minerals, it is possible for any individual to treat him- or herself simply and effectively for a great variety of everyday minor ailments. It is significant that such cell-salt treatment is replenishing something the body lacks and wants, as opposed to merely suppressing illness with drugs and other chemicals. Drugs do not provide missing cell nutrients, but drugs do add harmful chemicals to the body which ultimately compound the problem. The Schuessler cell salts may be seen as special raw materials for the body, which you need more of if you run out of what you normally have.

Salt is any type of readily dissolvable mineral combination, not just table salt. Many people take dietary iron supplements, but few would chew on a rusty nail for an iron source. The same is true with the Schuessler minerals: the potassium, silicon, iron, phosphate or other substance must be in a special potentiation to be most useable to the body. Most Schuessler cell salts are in a homeopathic potency, which uses minute quantities of a substance with great effect. The potentiation process multiplies the essential energy of a substance while at the same time decreasing the dosage amount. The subtlety, harmlessness and effectiveness of such preparations has been clinically proven for well over two hundred years, since the beginnings of homeopathic treatment in the 18th century.

Schuessler cell salts (also called "biochemic cell salts") are a non-prescription item and are available directly from any homeopathic pharmacy. Because of the medical profession's long-standing opposition to homeopathic remedies, it is not certain that your local drug store will even know what "cell salts" are, let alone stock them. Most health food stores do carry them. Schuessler remedies are commonly in a "6X" homeopathic potency. The "X" refers to the Roman numeral 10; 6x is one part in ten, repeated six times. The cost of the mineral tablets is very moderate, usually $5 to $8 per bottle of 250 or more. Addresses of homeopathic pharmacists may be obtained by using any an internet search engine.

Understanding Biochemic Tissue Salts

Biochemic tissue salts, or mineral salts, are vital to the health and function of our organs, tissues and cells. Our bodies produce these salts and they are also found in minute quantities in the food we eat. However, with our foods being bombarded with pollution and too many pesticides and fertilisers, our intake of these essential minerals is going down rapidly.

It was Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler who discovered in the late nineteenth century how important these tissue salts were. During his study of homeopathy, he concluded that we all need twelve basic mineral salts for optimum maintenance and performance. I want to tell you about the symptoms that show up when you are deficient in biochemic tissue salts and how they can help you achieve maximum health and balance.

The Twelve Biochemic Tissue Salts

CALCIUM FLUORIDE: Essential for strong teeth and bones. Also responsible for healthy elasticity of skin and fibres.
Signs of Deficiency: Constipation, dry flaky skin, red/brown marking in the corners of the eyes, stretch marks.

CALCIUM PHOSPHATE: Major cell restorer mineral, aids quick recovery, essential for growth in children because of its importance to young developing tissues.
Signs of Deficiency: Poor appetite and digestion, pale and gaunt appearance, palpitations, sadness and poor healing and recuperation. Any kind of bone disease, also numbness in any of the limbs.

CALCIUM SULPHATE: Superb blood purifier. This mineral purifies the entire body and removes waste products from the blood.
Signs of Deficiency: Skin problems, abscesses and ulcers. Also excess catarrh and mucus and neuralgia.

FERRUM PHOSPHATE: Excellent carrier of oxygen to every cell throughout the body. Also a natural anti-inflammatory and top immune-system support. Take at the first sign of a cold. Also, together with Kali Phosphate, it is very good for feverish conditions.
Signs of Deficiency: Heavy menstruation, tiredness and shortness of breath, dark smudges under the eyes, any anaemic deficiencies, and haemorrhoids.

KALI MURIATICUM: Blood detoxifier and conditioner, crucial for blood clotting. Excellent for all excess catarrh and mucous conditions, particularly those in the ears.
Signs of Deficiency: Pale, white face, nausea (good for morning sickness), blisters or swellings of glands.

KALI PHOSPHATE: It is a part of of the bodily tissues and fluids, especially of the nervous system, muscles and the brain. This biochemic tissue salt keeps nerves healthy and nourished and is required for the oxidation process.
Signs of Deficiency: Signs would include feeling mentally and physically exhausted, sleep-deprived, anxious and stressed. Any illness relating to the nervous system.

KALI SULPHATE: An important oxygen carrier and kidney booster. Responsible in part for good skin health, being found in the intercellular epithelium, muscles and nerves.
Signs of Deficiency: Yellow coated tongue, dandruff with yellow flakes, and oily, greasy skin. Also any yellow or brownish secretions.

MAGNESIUM PHOSPHATE: This biochemic tissue salt is found mostly in the white nerve fibres of muscles and nerves. It is also a natural anti-spasmodic.
Signs of Deficiency: Nervousness, hot flushes, neuralgia or migraines, muscle cramps.

NATRUM MURIATICUM: Also known as Sodium Chloride. Crucial for the balance of water throughout the body. Aids the digestive process.
Signs of Deficiency: Any dry, itchy skin, puffy eyes, bloated face or swelling in any part of the body. Digestive problems.

NATRUM PHOSPHATE: Regulator of acid within the body. It is also responsible for getting rid of excess water within the system. It is found within brain cells, muscles and nerves.
Signs of Deficiency: Indigestion and heartbearn, any ailment with a hot or burning sensation. Rheumatic conditions and foul odours.

NATRUM SULPHATE: Very important for healthy functioning of the pancreas and leaver. It also cleans and purifies. Maintains correct water amount in all tissues.
Signs of Deficiency: All rheumatic and liver ailments, nausea, allergies, yellow whites of eyes, fuzzy tongue.

SILICA: The main constituent of hair, skin, nails, bone and blood. A major element of the mucous membranes and connective tissue.
Signs of Deficiency: Abscesses, boils, dry and brittle hair. Irritation and frayed nerves, excessive anger. Sensitive to light.

How to take Tissue Salts

Biochemic tissue salts are widely available, usually in good health food shops or larger pharmacies.

The twelve tissue salts are available in homeopathic tablets which dissolve on the tongue. They are available individually as described above, or in handy combination for particular ailments, such as hay fever, insomnia, digestive problems etc. As with all homeopathic remedies it is advisable not to eat or drink for twenty minutes either side of taking the remedy.

They are completely harmless, as they are a non-organic substance which is naturally produced in our bodies in an ongoing basis. There are no known side- effects and an overdose can’t occur as biochemic tissue salts are only replacing what the body is lacking; any excess is naturally excreted.

THE 12 BIOCHEMIC CELL (TISSUE) SALTS

Winner of Two Nobel prizes, Dr. Linus Pauling predicted that the most important advances coming in the 21st century were in the areas of molecular biology, medicine, and biochemistry. His thoughts were along the lines that we would understand the motion of atoms and all their affects on the body better as time went on.

The whole concept was not to generally treat a "disease", it was to look at each individual having a unique blueprint of their own and treating them accordingly. This concept was very similar to the concept of homeopathic medicine fully discovered in Germany two centuries ago.

In Oldenburg, Germany in the early nineteenth Century, Doctor W.H. Schuessler – noted German physiological chemist, homeopathic physician and physicist, felt that the 2000 remedies used during his time could be simplified. Determining that in alot of the remedies the mineral constituents were the active ingredients, he identified 12 "tissue salts", which he located in every human cell. These tissue salts or "Cell salts" are vital mineral constituents of the body. Combining with organic substances in the body to produce and maintain the infinite number of tissue-cells of which the human body is composed. He determined that any cell salt deficiency or imbalance may result in illness – the symptoms varying according to the deficient "biochemic" cell salt. Dr Schuessler found that if the body was lacking in any of these salts, loss of health occurred. However he went on to state that if the deficiency was corrected, the body could in fact, heal itself.

It is important to note that Schuessler`s Biochemic Cell Salts are a valuable microdose cell foods prepared homeopathically in an extremely subdivided form which ensures rapid and easy assimilation, for the speedy restoration of the natural balance of the body system.

BOOKS AVAILABLE

Please note some tissue (Cell) Salts have two numbers at the beginning, the first number represents the numbering system used in North America and some other parts of the world while the numbers in brackets represent the numbering system originally used by Schuessler in Germany and is also used in various parts of the world.

#1 CALC FLUOR (Calcium Fluoride)

Cracks in the skin, loss of elasticity, relaxed condition of the veins and arteries, piles, sluggish circulation, loose teeth. Calcium Fluoride helps maintain tissue elasticity and is beneficial for conditions associated with over-relaxed fibres. This would include dilated blood vessels such as with haemorrhoids, enlarged and varicose veins. Calcium Fluoride is also found in the enamel of teeth and bone surfaces. Assists normal blood circulation and the treatment of cracked skin, muscle strain and injured ligaments. It helps strengthen the blood vessels, bones and teeth.

It is the chief remedy for complaints of a spasmodic nature, such as in colic, menstruation cramps, palpitations, spasmodic cough, toothache, neuralgia and acute pains in general. Important remedy for baby´s colic. Beneficial in many cases of exhaustion due to emotional upset.

#9 (#8) NAT . MUR (Sodium Chloride)

Low spirits, headaches with constipation, heartburn, tooth ache, hay fever, craving for salt and salty foods, weak eyes. Considered the "Water Salt", Sodium Chloride helps control the degree of moisture in the tissues, and as such is beneficial for temporary relief of conditions such as watery colds, (runny nose and eye watering symptoms) It may also assits with tissue dryness, some cases of constipation and is helpful in certain conditions of backache or digestive distrubances arising from too little acid.

#10 (#9) NAT.PHOS. (Sodium Phosphate)

Stiffness and swelling of the joints, acidic blood conditions, rheumatism, lumbago, worms, golden-yellow coating at root of tongue. Sodium Phosphate helps maintain the alkalinity of the blood, emulsifies fatty acids and keeps uric acid soluble in the blood. Thus, Sodium Phosphate may help young children who have been fed too much sugar and are suffering from an acid condition of the system. It also aids the temporary relief of gastric indigestion, dyspepsia, heartburn, intestinal worms, and mild rheumatic tendencies.

#11 (#10) NAT. SULPH (Sodium Sulphate)

Influenza, humid asthma, malaria, liver ailments, brownish green coating of the tongue, bitter taste in mouth. Sodium Sulphate helps balance the amount of water in the tissues and if necessary, eliminates excess fluid. It is a Biochemic aid for the liver, spleen and kidneys. As such, Sodium Sulphate may aid the temporary relief of biliousness, liver troubles, digestive upsets and some influenzya symptoms. Helps dispel languid feelings experienced during humid weather.

#12 (#11) SILICA (Silicon Oxide)

Smelly feet and arm pits, pus formation, abscesses, boils, tonsillitis, brittle nails, stomach pains. A Biochemic Cleanser and elminator, Silicon oxide is part of all connective tissue cells. It promotes suppuration and the discharge of wastes, thereby often initiating the healing process by dispersing potentially harmful accumulates such as with skin eruptions and toxic blood conditions, abscesses, boils, etc. In the first stage of any swelling, Ferr Phos. and Kali Mur should be given, but should these tissue salts fail to check the process, Silica should be taken to ripen the abscess and promote it´s discharge. Silicon Oxide is also beneficial for the normal health and strength of hair and nails.

BIOCHEMIC PHOSPHATES (ALL 5 PHOSPHATES)

Great combination for supporting those over used nerves. With so much stimulation happening to our senses combined with the lack of down time people take, ends up over taxing our nervous system. This is a great combination for exam time, overtime, or anytime your schedule takes you beyond the limit, especially when mental clearness is important

COMBINATION 12

In this special combination all 12 essential cell salts are available in each preparation in accordance with the British and US Pharmacopoeia, and based on Dr Schuessler`s biochemic system of medicine. These are beneficial for helping the balance of mineral salts throughout the body, for general good health. This remedy is great for daily support yet it is important to remember to emphasis using one of the single tissue salts if specific symptoms still arise (i.e cramping, use Mag Phos or Calc Phos to help restore mineral balance and the cramping)

This natural form of medicine is about – diagnosing which mineral salt(s) are lacking in the organism – establishing the cause – thereby being able to temporarily supplement the required Mineral Salt in order to stimulate the cell system, increasing the organisms own natural defence mechanisms, assisting in the prevention of illness. Furthermore it is a natural and inexpensive remedy which can be an excellent complimentary treatment and moreover is compatible with Allopathic medicine.

Biochemic cell salts

aka Tissue Salts or Cell Salts are alternative remedies based on inorganic salts elaborated by Wilhelm Heinrich Schüßler (1821–1898). Although moderately diluted (3X-6X), they are not classed as homeopathic, because they are not purported to act according to the "like cures like" principle of homeopathy.[1] Nonetheless, they are commonly advocated by people who also advocate similar alternative medicine remedies, including homeopathy.

Tissue salt tablets

Inorganic salts were first used in homeopathic preparations by Samuel Hahnemann, and further utilised by Dr. Schüßler who identified 12 different salts in human tissue based on the analysis and research of inorganic constituents of cremated organs and remains by Jacob Moleschott and Justus von Liebig.

Schüßler concluded that the cell salts are important mineral constituents that are present in human cells, and that (in accordance with the theories of Rudolf Virchow) disease took place at the cellular level.

Even though water and organic matter make up a greater portion of living cells, the inorganic matter is the only substance that the organism/cells cannot produce by itself. Since the life of living cells is relatively short, the creation of new cells depends on the presence of minerals. Mineral deficiencies will inhibit the proper functioning of living cells.

Schüßler also stated that if an imbalance or deficiency of these salts at the cellular level were to occur, sickness may follow. Schüßler believed that the balance of these twelve mineral salts could be restored by ingesting "cell salts" in a bio-available form. He claimed that these minerals needed not so much to be "replaced" as the cells needed to be prompted by the presence of the homeopathically potentised cell salts to restore balance of the essential components.[citation needed]

He ascribed a specific purpose to each one of the 12 salts, based on his understanding of their biochemical purpose and relative distribution in the body.[2][unreliable source?] He also performed clinical experiments to verify his conclusions in the form of homeopathic "provings".[3][unreliable source?]

These days, tissue salts are usually prepared as tablets, made up with lactose powder in a manner similar to homeopathic products: Each inorganic salt is ground (triturated) with lactose powder in a ratio of 1:9, and this mixture is then ground with fresh lactose, again in a 1:9 ratio. This process is repeated either three or six times, yielding a 1 000 000 to 1 dilution or 1000:1 dilution.

Because of this dilution, tissue salts are generally prescribed at dosages that are too low to have any detectable effect on the levels of the minerals and electrolytes involved.[citation needed] No peer reviewed scientific clinical trials have been conducted on tissue salts, and they are less well known to the public than some other complementary therapies.[4]

The twelve salts described by Schüßler, together with the abbreviated names under which they are sold, are:

  • Calcium fluoride (calc fluor)
  • Calcium phosphate (calc phos)
  • Calcium sulfate (calc sulph)
  • Potassium chloride (kali mur)
  • Potassium phosphate (kali phos)
  • Potassium sulfate (kali sulph)
  • Sodium phosphate (nat phos)
  • Sodium sulfate (nat sulph)
  • Sodium chloride (nat mur)
  • Ferric pyrophosphate (ferrum phos)
  • Magnesium phosphate (mag phos)
  • Silicon dioxide (silicea)
The combination of all 12 salts in one formula commonly called by its non-trade name Bioplasma. Often the five phosphates are combined into a compound remedy at a 3X potency called "Biochemic Phosphates". The popular homeopathic combination remedy Hylands Calms Forte, is prepared in a base of biochemic phosphates, in contrast to the regular strength Calms which is prepared in USP Lactose.

Biochemic Combinations

Biochemic combinations or cell salts or tissue salts have been dispensed as combinatiosn since the time of Schussller.

The biochemic theory states that diseases occour due to imbalance in the vital cell salts and by giving potentised cell salts, such disturbance or imbalance can be corrected. There are 12 biochemic tissue salts. Each tissue salt covers numerous systems and symptoms. If a person is found to have symptoms, which are not fully covered by a single salt, more then one salt is given in combination.

Based upon the tissue affinity and symptoms, the cell salts have been combined in 28 different combinations containing 3 to 5 medicines. Each combination works for a specific set of symptoms or a specific condition like coryza, cough, fever, constipation, diarrhoea, dentition etc.

Here is a list of these combinations, their use and ingredients -

The Last Word..

Although the proponents of biochemic combinations say that it is a seperate system and we can use combinations because there can be a defeciency of more that one cell-salt at a given time, I have some questions which should make people situp and think.

1. How homeopathic Natrum-mur 12x is different from biochemic Natrum-mur 12x?

2. Why is it that Natrum-mur 6c is homeopathic but natrum-mur 12x is biochemic? There is technically speaking not much difference – both are diluted, potentized to nearly same level.

3. When biochemic medicines are also slected on the basis of symptom-similarity, how is it different from the homeopathic law of similia?

Anybody who ponders seriously over such questions would realize that cell-salts are not an independent system. They are very much a part of homeopathy and therefore the laws that apply to homeopathic combinations, should apply to the biochemic combinations too.

Preparation & Dose of Biochemic Remedies

The Tissue Remedies are prepared for therapeutic purposes, like all homeopathic remedies, according to the decimal or centesimal scale in trituration or dilution. The crude, chemically pure article is taken and triturated with sugar of milk, one part of the drug to nine parts of sugar of milk, for at least two hours. This gives the first decimal trituration, each grain containing one-tenth of a grain of the cell salt triturated.

One part of this first decimal trituration is then used, and other nine parts of sugar of milk added and again triturated two hours, which gives the second decimal trituration, and is equivalent to the first centesimal trituration, each grain containing one-hundredth of the triturated cell salt. But experience has shown, as may be seen, too, from the illustrations above that even this minute subdivision is too gross for many purposes in the animal economy, and so this triturating and subdividing process has been kept up to the sixth, twelfth and even higher preparations.

SCHUSSLER’S OWN PROCEDURE.

At first Schussler began with the sixth centesimal or twelfth decimal trituration; but he, very early in his practice, adopted the sixth decimal preparation as the one most generally useful. Lately the lower triturations of Potassium and Sodium salts, the third decimal, of others the fourth and fifth, have been productive of equally good results. In the last edition of his “Abgekiurzte Therapie” he says on this point: “In my practice I employ the sixth decimal trituration generally. Ferrum phos., Silicea and Calcarea fluor., I usually give in the 12th trituration. In acute diseases, a dose consisting of a powder, size of a pea, should be given every hour or two; in chronic diseases 3 or 4 times daily. The powder may be given dry on the tongue, or dissolved in a spoonful of water.”

We, ourselves, have had the most satisfactory results from the sixth decimal trituration, rarely going higher, at times lower, and generally we prefer to give the selected remedy in solution by dissolving a good-sized powder in a tumbler, half full of water, and administering teaspoonful doses every hour or two.

These triturations may be moulded into tablets usually of one grain each; the dose being two or three taken dry on tongue or dissolved in water.

If liquid solutions are used, a few drops may be dissolved in water, or pellets or disks may be saturated and given in that way. The latter is especially to be recommended with children.

FREQUENCY OF DOSES.

In acute cases, a dose every hour or two; in severe, painful affections, a dose every ten to fifteen minutes; in chronic affections, one to four doses daily. I

In suitable cases the external use of the remedies is indicated and has been found useful. For this purpose the lower triturations may be used.

In determining the dose of a biochemic remedy, the amount of the morbid product involved is no important factor. For instance, a very small deficiency of Natrum mur. in the cells of the epithelial layer of a serous sac may give rise to a massive serous exudation; and as minute a supply of Natrum mur. corresponding to the deficiency may bring about a complete resorption of the exudation.

Guided by the relative quantities of the cell salts, each practitioner can select the proper dose of the indicated biochemic remedy.

One milligramme (1-100 grain = to the 2d decimal trituration) of a substance is estimated to contain 16 trillions of molecules. According to this estimate, the 6th decimal trituration of it would contain about 16 billions; this quantity is more than sufficient to restore disturbed molecular motions to the normal.

It may be urged as an objection that the molecules of a given salt administered as a medicine would unite with their like contained in the blood, and thus render illusory any curative attempt. But this combination cannot take place simply because the carbonic acid present in the blood forms an isolating medium of the salts.

The Theory of Schussler’s Biochemic Method

The idea upon which Biochemic Therapeutics is based is the physiological fact that both the structure and vitality of the organs of the body are dependent upon certain necessary quantities and proper apportionment of its organic constituents. These remain after combustion of the tissues and form the ashes.

The inorganic constituents are, in a very real sense, the material basis of the organs and tissues of the body, and are absolutely essential to their integrity of structure and functional activity. According to Schussler’s theory, any disturbance in the molecular motion of these salts in living issus, caused by a defeciency in the requesite amount, constitutes disease, which can be rectified and the requisite equilibrium re-estabiished by administering the same mineral salts in small quantities. This is supposed to be brought about by virtue of the operation of chemical affinity in the domain of histology; and hence this therapeutic procedure is styled by Schussler the Biochemic method, and stress is laid on the fact that it is in supposed harmony with well-known facts and laws in physiological chemistry and allied sciences.

THE CONSTITUENTS OF THE HUMAN ORGANISM.

Blood consiss of water, sugar, fat, albuminous substances, chloride of sodium, chloride of potash, fluoride of lime, silica, iron, lime, magnesia, soda and potash. The latter are combined with phosphoric, carbonic and sulphuric acids.

The salts of soda predominate in the blood plasma, while those of potash are found especially in the blood corpuscles. Sugar, fat, and the albuminous substances are the so-called organic components of the blood, while the above-named salts and water constitute its inorganic components. Sugar and fat are compounds of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, while the albuminous substances contain in addition sulphur and nitrogen.

Sulphnr, carbon and phosphorus are not present within the organism in a free state, but combined with organic substances. Sulphur and carbon are found in the albumen, carbon in the carbo-hydrates like sugar, starch and in the products incident to metamorphosis of organicnic substances. Phosphorus is contained in the lecithins and in the nucleins. The sulphnr of the albumen is oxidised by the oxygen of the inspired air, forming sulphuric acid which combine, with the bases of the carbonates, forming sulphates and setting free carbonic acid.

TISSUE-BUILDING

Blood, containing the material for every tissue and cell of the body, furnishes nutriment for every organ, enabling it to perform its individual function; thus it supplies every possible physiological want in the animal economy.

It does this by the transudation of a portion of its plasma into the surrounding tissues through the capillary walls, by which the losses sustained by the cells on account of tissue metamorphosis are made good. According to modem biological views, this pabulum is a material sui generis, catled irritable matter or protoplasm, and is the only living matter, and is universally diffused throughout the organism, of which it constitutes about one-fifth, the remaining four-fifths being organized and relatively, thefore, dead matter, In its physical charachter, it is nitrogenous, pulpy, structureless, semi-fluid, translucent, homogeneous, similar to that of the ganglionic nerves and to the gray, nervous matter. In this transuded fluid appear, fine granules, which unite to form germs from which, again, cells develop. By the union of these cells are formed the tissues of every kind needed for the upbuilding of the whole organism. Two kinds of substances are needed in this process of tissue-building, and both are found in the blood-namely, the organic and the inorganic constituents. Among the former organic constituents are the sugar, fat and albuminous substances of the blood, serving as the physical basis of the tissues, while the water and salts — namely, potash, lime, silica, iron, magnesium and sodium – are the inorganic substances, which are believed to determine the particular kind of cell to be built up other salts may from time to time be found, but the foregoing, however embrace all which are constantly present. Wherever then, in the animal organism, new cells are to be generated and formed, there must be present, in sufficient quantity and proper relation, both these organic and inorganic substances. By their presence in the blood, all the organs, viscera and tissues in the body are formed, fixed and made permanent in their functions, and a disturbance here causes disturbed function.

INORGANIC CONSTITUENTS OF CELLS.

The principal inorganic materials of nerve-cells are Magnesia phos, Kali phos, Natrum and Ferrum. Muscle cells contain the same, with addition of Kali-mur. Connective tissue cells have for their specific substance Silica, while that of the etastic tissue-cells is probably Calcarea flour. In bone cells We have Calcarea fluor, and Magnesia phos and a large proportion of Calcarea phos. This latter is found in small quantities in the cells of muscle, nerve, brain and connective tissue. Cartilage and mucous cells have for their specific inorganic material Natrum mur. which is found also in all solid and fluid parts of the body. Hair and the crystalline lens contain among other inorganic substances, also Ferrum. The carbonates, as’ such, are, according to Moleschott, without any influence in the process of cell-formation.

HEALTH AND DISEASE

Health may be considered to be the state characterized by the normal cell metamorphosis; thus, when by means of digestion of food and drink, recompense is made to the blood for the losses it sustains by furnishing nutritive material to the tissues, this compensation is made in requisite quantities and in proper places, and no disturbance to the motion of the molecules occurs. Under these conditions alone will the building of new cells and the destruction of old ones proceed normally, and the elimination of useless materials be futhered.

Disease is the result of a disturbance of the molecular motion of one of the inorganic tissue salts. The cure consists in the restoration of the equilibrium of the molecular motion by furnishing a minimal dose of the same inorganic substance, since the molecules of the material thus used remedially fill the gap in the chain of molecules of the affected cell or tissue salt.

Virchow says that disease is an altered state of the cell, and hence the normal state of the cell constitutes health. The constitution of the cell is determined by the composition of its nutritive environment exactly as a plant thrives according to the quality of soil around its roots.

In agricultnrat chemistry we add as fertilizer that element most lacking in the soil. Bnt three essential substances used as fertilizers are required, namely, ammonia, phosphate of lime or potash. The other substances needful for plant nutrition are found in sufficient quantities in the soil. The same law of supplying a lack applies to biochemical remedies; for instance, take the following example:

A child suffering from rickets shows a lack of phosphate of lime in bones due to the disturbed molecular motion of the molecules of this salt. The quantity of phosphate of lime intended for the bones, but failing to reach its goal, would accumulate within the blood were it not excreted by the urine, for it is the office of the kidneys to maintain the proper composition of the blood, and, therefore, to cast out every foreign substance or surplus supply of any one constituent. Now after the normal molecular motion of the phosphate of lime molecules is again established within the involved nutritive soil by -administering small doses of the same salt, the surplus can again enter the general circulation and the cure of the rachitis be brought about.

Every normal cell has the faculty of absorbing or rejecting certain substances. This property is diminished or suspended when the cell has suffered a loss in one of its salts in consequece of any irritation. As soon as this deficiency is made good by a supply of a homogeneous material from the immediate nutritive soil, the equilibrium is re-established. But if the supply is not offered spontaneously, it is to be assumed that the needful salt is lacking in quantity, or, on the other hand, that the diseased cell, have suffered a physical alteration besides which precludes the entrance of the required tissue salt. In such a case the salt must be offered in a more diluted state, that is, a higher trituration or attenuation.

If the altered cells regain their integrity by recovering their loss, they can again perform their normal functions, and bring about the removal by chemical processes of morbid products, exudations, etc. The biochemical therapeutics aids nature in her efforts to cure by supplying the natura remedies lacking in certain parts, that is, the inorganic cell salts, and in this way corrects abnormal states of physiological chemistry.

The aim of biochemistry is to cover a deficiency directly. All other methods of cure reach this goal indirectly, when they make use of remedial agents heterogeneous to the constituents of the human organism.

History of the Tissue Remedies

AMUEL HAHNEMANN, whose genius divined the great importance of the inorganic cell salts as remedial agents of a high order, was the first who began thorough investigation into their pathogenetic effects and therapeutic uses. It was his provings of Lime and Salt and Potash and Silica that prepared the way for the rest of the Tissue Remedies, that showed what vast store-houses of medicinal force these inorganic substances are, although apparently inert in their crude state. It was he, who first pointed out how these forces could be unlocked and directed for therapeutic purposes. Later, in 1832, attention was called in a paper published in Stapf’s Archiv to the great importance as remedies of all the “essential component parts of the human body”, and again, in the same journal, in 1846: “All constituents of the human body principally act on those organs wherein they have a function. All fulfill their functions when they are the cause of symptoms.” This from the pen of that remarkable genius in the field of Materia Medica – Constantine Hering.

Later still, we find Grauvogl, in his Text-Book, taking some notice of these remarks and amplifying them; but it remained for Dr. Schussler, of Oldenburg, Germany, to develop these suggestions and make the idea foreshadowed in them the basis of, a “new system”. In March, 1873, an article, entitled “An Abridged Homeopathic Therapeutics”, from his pen, was published in a German Homeopathic journal, in which he says: “About a year ago I endeavored to discover by experiments on the sick if it were not possible to heal them, provided their diseases were curable at all, with those substances that are the natural, i. e., the physiological function-remedies.”. Of this no special notice seems to have been taken, until, five months subsequently, Dr. Lorbacher, of Leipzig, came out in the same journal with some critical considerations of it. This was followed by a reply from Schussler, which ran through seven numbers, giving a more detailed account of this “Abridged System of Homeopathic Therapeutics,” the important features of which are incorporated in this work.

The original communication from Schussler to the German medical journal was translated into English, and published first in the Medical Investigator, May, 1873, and soon afterwards in a small work, by Dr. C. Hering, entitled the “Twelve Tissue Remedies,” “recommended for investigation” by this great teacher of our school. Several editions were published in rapid succession, from which this historical sketch is mainly derived, and following these appeared the translation of the twelfth German edition, by J. T. O’Connor, M. D., and one by M. Docetti Walker, considerably enlarged by the addition of an appendix popularizing the Biochemic Method. Dr. Schussler, previous to his death, which occurred early in 1898, published the 25th German edition, in which the application of several of the remedies has been greatly enlarged and considerable new matter added, all of which is incorporated in this work. This edition has been translated into English.

Notwithstanding that Dr. Schussler denies in the later editions of his work all connection with Homeopathy, and insists that his method is not based upon the homeopathic law of cure, but upon physiologico-chemical processes that take place within the organism, it is nevertheless true that the present wide adoption of the Tissue Remedies in the treatment of disease is the fruit of the seed sown on homeopathic ground as early as 1832, although its development was slow until Schussler gave it a wonderful impetus by bringing physiologilcal chemistry and physiological and pathological facts to bear on his therapeutic procedure.

Biochemic Materia Medica

CALCAREA FLUORICUM

For glandular tumors, varicose veins, prolapsus uterus, bone affections etc.

This salt is indicated in all diseases affecting the substance forming the surface of the bone, the enamel of the teeth and part of elastic fibres, no matter in what structure they may be found. A deficiency of the elastic fibres in the muscular tissue causes a relaxation, which is a primary condition in many diseases.

Indicated in all ailments that can be traced to a relaxed condition of the elastic fibres, including dilatation of blood vessels such as blood-tumors, piles, enlarged and varicose veins, indurated glands, enlargement of the heart, relaxed uvula, prolapsed of the womb, etc. Also useful in the diseases of the respiratory organs with difficult expectoration of small yellow lumps. The symptoms are all worse in damp weather and are relieved by fomentation and by rubbing.

CALCAREA PHOSPHORICUM

For anaemia, chlorosis, deficient development, dentition disorders, bone affections, dyspepsia etc.

The sphere of the Phosphate of Lime includes all bone diseases, whether due to some inherited dyscrasia or to defective nutrition in osseous and other structures dependent upon a proper distribution of lime molecules in the body. It is the bone cell-salt. Without this element, no bone can be formed and hence it is a valuable remedy in childhood when the bones are in the condition of being formed. Cal. Phos. is also found in the gastric juice and plays an important part in the process of digestion and assimilation. It is of importance in anaemia, in chlorosis, in convulsions and spasms, in weak scrofulous subjects; during dentition when the teeth are slow in making their appearance and decay too rapidly; also in other teething disorders. In convalescence after acute and chronic wasting diseases, it acts as a tonic by building up new red blood corpuscles and by restoring the lost vitality. Deficient development of children and young people emaciation without apparent cause onanism, suppuration of bones, spinal weakness and curvature. Aids the union of fractured bones. Rheumatism of the joints, chronic enlargements of the tonsils and goiter. Cholera infantum, faeces hot and offensive. Dyspepsia; food seems to lie in a lump; vomiting after cold drinks. Cold, change of weather, motion, getting wet, generally aggravates symptoms. Relieved by rest, warmth and by lying down.

CALCAREA SULPHURICUM

For suppurations, boils, carbuncles, gonorrhea and chronic catarrhal conditions.

This is a most excellent remedy in suppurations to which it is closely related. It is an eliminator of effete matter. A deficiency of this salt causes long protracted suppurations. It is indicated in swelling of the soft parts in connective tissue with threatened suppuration or where suppuration has already taken place. Abscesses either aborting or hastening suppuration. Suppurative stage of eruptive diseases of the skin. Boils, carbuncles, felons, pimples and pustules on the face; suppurative stage of gonorrhea; ‘in fact in all ailments where pus-formations are liable to develop or have already developed. Chronic catarrhal conditions with purulent secretions. Advanced stages of lung diseases. The true indication for this remedy is a thick, heavy yellow pus, sometimes streaked with blood. Symptoms are aggravated by getting wet or by washing and working in water,

FERRUM PHOSPHORICUM

For acute congestions, inflammations, fevers, etc.

Ferrum Phos. is given in the initial stage of all congestions, inflammations and fevers. This salt possesses an affinity or attraction for oxygen and carries it to all parts of the body and hence is an important agent in all diseases in which the blood and the corpuscles are involved. Consequently, the first remedy in all cases depending upon the relaxed condition of the muscular tissue and in abnormal conditions of the corpuscles of the blood themselves. It gives strength to the circular wall of the blood vessels. It supplies the colour to the blood corpuscles. A deficiency of this cell salt is the cause of fevers and inflammatory conditions and so indicated in all febrile disturbances and in inflammatory and congestive diseases at the beginning, especially before exudation has commenced. The principal accompaniments of these conditions calling for Ferrum Phos are manifested by flushed face, fever with full pulse, hot, dry skin, thirst, pain and redness of the part. An excellent remedy in anaemia, chlorosis, pneumonia, inflammatory rheumatism, tonsillitis, diphtheria, cystitis, nosebleed, incontinence of urine, apoplexy, gastritis etc. The symptoms calling for this remedy are always aggravated by motion and ameliorated by cold.

KALI MURIATICUM

For second stage of inflammatory diseases, diphtheria, croup, catarrh, pneumonia, glandular swellings, deafness etc.

Kali Mur. is given for the sequel of all inflammations, for exudations and infiltrations, especially of a fibrous character and in inflammations of serous membranes, when the exudation is plastic in nature. A most excellent remedy in the later stages of all catarrhal states. This cell-salt works with the fibrine, which is found in every tissue of the organism except boric. In inflammatory exudations we find fibrine in the serous cavities and on the mucous membranes. The use of Kali Mur. usually follows Ferrum Phos. in inflammatory disorders. The characteristic symptoms of Kali Mur which is always indicated in the second stage of the inflammatory diseases, are glandular swellings, discharges or expectorations of a thick, white fibrinous consistency, white or gray exudations and a white or gray coating of the tongue. The efficacy of this remedy is demonstrated in chronic catarrhal conditions, croup, diphtheria, dysentery, pneumonia etc. Diarrhoea with pale, yellow faces. With Ferrum Phos is should be given in coughs. Useful in deafness from the catarrh of the Eustachian tubes, in skin eruptions with small vesicles containing yellowish secretions, ulcerations, ulcerations with swelling and white exudations, in rheumatism with swelling of the parts, in leucorrhoea and gonorrhea with characteristic discharge. Symptoms in general are worse from motion, while gastric and abdominal symptoms are worse after taking pastry, rich and fatty foods.

KALI PHOSPHORICUM

For neurasthenic condition in general, sleeplessness.

Kali Phos. is a constituent of the brain, nerves, muscles and blood vessels. It unites with albumen and creates nerve fluid or the gray matter of the brain. Nervous symptoms indicate a deficiency of this cell-salt, which must be supplied to restore the normal condition. Whatever disease can be traced to the nerve degeneracy, we enter the field of Kali Phos. Nervous condition known as neurasthenia is a field in which this salt has become prominently curative. The results of the want of nerve power, such as prostration, loss of mental vigor, depression, brain-fag, softening of the brain, insanity, paralysis, epilepsy, hysteria, locomotor ataxia and when there is rapid decomposition of the blood. It is curative in septic haemorrhages, scorbutus, gangrene, stomatitis, offensive carrion-like diarrhoea, dysentery, a dynamic or typhoid conditions, incontinence of urine, urticaria, predisposition of epistaxis in children, dizziness and vertigo from sleeplessness, nervous exhaustion, nervous dyspepsia, asthma, neuralgia, nervous headaches, tongue coated as if with dark liquid mustard. Symptoms are aggravated from noise, by mental or physical exertion, by rising from a sitting position. Pains worse in cold and ameliorated by gentle motion.

KALI SULPHURICUM

For third stage of inflammatory or catarrhal condition, leucorrhoea, diarrhoea, skin diseases, rheumatism, ulcerations, dyspepsia.

Kali Sulph is a carrier of oxygen. It furnishes vitality to the epithelial tissues. Light yellow, sticky and watery secretions are the characteristics of this remedy. The chief indication for this remedy is yellow deposit on the tongue. It has been given in bronchitis with yellow, slimy or thin, watery expectoration, in whooping cough, pneumonia pthisis, skin diseases with a sticky yellowish secretion and peeling off of the epidermis. Epithelioma, rheumatism, retrocession of eruptions in measles. Dyspepsia with slimy yellow coating of the tongue, catarrh of the bowels, diarrhoea, leucorrhoea, ophthalmia etc; with light yellow, watery secretions; dandruff; yellow scales in skin diseases. Amenorrhoea, menstruation too late and too scanty with weight and fullness in the abdomen etc. All ailments are worse in a warm room and toward evening and better in cool, open air.

MAGNESIA PHOSPHORICUM

For convulsions, epilepsy, cramps and spasmodic affections, neuralgia, sciatica.

It is a constituent of muscles, nerves, brain, bone, spine, teeth and blood corpuscles. It helps to create the white fibres of the muscles and nerves. It uses water and albumen to form the transparent fluid, which nourishes the white threads and fibres of nerves and muscles. The deficiency of this salt allows the fibres to contract, causing spasms, cramps, convulsions and other nervous phenomena. It is a remedy to be thought of in all maladies having their origin in nerve cells and in the muscular tissue. It is particularly indicated in lean, thin, emaciated persons of a highly nervous temperament. Magnesia patient is always languid, tired and easily exhausted. The value of this remedy is shown in all forms of spasms, cramps, tetanus. St. Vitu’s dance, epilepsy, spasmodic retention of urine, paralysis agitans, hiccup, whooping cough, chorea. It is the remedy for the neuralgic pains in the head, face, teeth, car, stomach, abdomen etc. spasmodic palpitation of the heart, dysmenorrhoea. Attacks are often attended with great prostration, sometimes with profuse sweat. Valuable remedy for flatulent colic forcing the patient to bend double. Dysentery with cramp-like pains, angina pectoris, sciatica with excruciating spasmodic pains, angina pectoris, sciatica with excruciating spasmodic pain writer’s and piano-player’s cramps. All pains are lightening-like, shooting or boring, and change their location frequently and are worse on the right side, from cold air, washing in cold water, and from touch. Relieved by warmth pressure, friction and by bending double.

NATRUM MURIATICUM

For catarrhal affections with thin, clear, transparent, watery secretions, influenza, hay-fever, diarrhoea, constipation, leucorrhoea, intermittent fevers and skin diseases.

This salt is a constituent of every liquid and solid part of the body. Its function is to regulate the degree of moisture within the cells. It properly distributes the water through the organism.

Deficiency in this salt causes the disturbance of water in the human organism. An unequal distribution of water in the system sometimes causes excessive dryness of mucous membranes in some part, while there may be a copious, watery fluid from another part. Naturm Mur. will set things right and will establish equilibrium. It acts upon the lymphatic system, the blood, liver, spleen and upon the mucous lining of’ the alimentary canal. It is indicated in headache, toothache, faceache, stomachache and also where there is either salivation or hyper secretion of tears or vomiting of water and mucus. Catarrhal affections of mucous membranes with secretion of transparent, watery, frothy mucus. Small watery blisters, breaking and leaving a thin crust. Skin diseases with watery symptoms.
